Sharing of personal information required for the switching system

1. Scope of sharing

We may share your personal

・General power transmission and distribution business operators *3
・Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators (OCCTO)

2. Purpose of sharing

  1. Conclusion, change, or cancellation of a consignment supply contract or adjusted power supply contract (hereinafter referred to as “consignment supply contract, etc.”)
  2. Agency of abolition *4 of a retail supply contract (including contracts related to isolated island service and last resort service) or a power interchange contract (hereinafter referred to as “retail supply contract, etc.”)
  3. Confirmation of information on supply (receiving) points
  4. Execution of business of a general power transmission and distribution business operator based on consignment supply contract, etc. such as meter reading of electricity consumption, maintenance/inspection/replacement of equipment, and investigation of equipment in the event of a power outage or disaster, etc.

3. Information to be shared

  1. Basic information: Name, address, phone number, and contract number of retail supply contract, etc.
  2. Information on supply (receiving) point: Supply area coverage of the general power transmission and distribution business operator who concludes consignment supply contract, etc., subject for the isolated island service policy, supply (receiving) point identification number, price information regarding consignment contract, current upper limit, connection transmission service menu, power factor, supply method, determination method of consignment contract, instrument information, service column number, presence/absence of grid interconnection equipment, transfer date of consignment contract, meter reading date, contract status, and abolition method

4. Responsible person for sharing

  1. Basic information: Electric power retailers that have concluded retail supply contract, etc. (general power transmission and distribution business operators in the case of basic information on consumers who receive isolated island service or last resort service)
  2. Information on supply (receiving) point: General power transmission and distribution business operators whose supply area coverage is the supply (receiving) point

*1 We share customer’s personal information only with business operators within the range necessary for the purpose of sharing, and do not necessarily share with all electric power retailers and general power transmission and distribution business operators.

*2 An electric power retailer does not fall under the reason for refusal of registration stipulated in Article 2-5, Paragraph 1 of the Electricity Business Act (Act No.170 of July 11, 1964), and is registered by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (including those deemed to have been registered as an electric power retailer pursuant to the supplementary provisions of the Act for Partial Revision of the Electricity Business Act (Act No.72 of 2014); see the website of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy for the name and location of the business operator).

*3 A general power transmission and distribution business operator refers to Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc., Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc., TEPCO Power Grid, Incorporated, Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc., Hokuriku Electric Power Co., Inc., Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc., Shikoku Electric Power Co., Inc., Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc., and Okinawa Electric Power Co., Inc.

*4 “Abolition agency of retail supply contract, etc.” refers to that a business operator who has applied for a new retail supply contract, etc. from a customer acts on behalf of such customer and applies for the cancellation of the retail supply contract, etc. to the existing business operator.

Handling of personal information in the electric power business

1. Purpose of use of personal information

We use personal information obtained from customers within the scope necessary for the purposes such as call for applications from electric power retailers, conclusion/execution/charging for the contracts, installation/maintenance of related equipment, etc., related after-sales service, shipping of products/prizes, questionnaire/monitor surveys, improvement/development of products or services, notification/solicitation/sale of the existing or new products/services/events/campaigns handled by us or our affiliated partners, business required by relevant laws, and other business associated thereby.

2. Provision of personal information to a third party

We may provide all or any part of personal information and personal data to outsourcing contractors within the scope of the above purposes of use. In addition, we may provide personal information and personal data to the extent necessary to the Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA) and other third-party organizations in order to carry out third-party verification of our products and services such as the CO2 emission coefficient plan.
